Tejas - July 2008

Below are pictures of Tejas from June and July. Tejas made his first trip to India to meet all of his avvas, tha thas, aunts, uncles and cousins. It was Tejas' great grandmother's 88th birthday. The first picture is about half of of the family.

Tejas did really well on the planes and with jet lag. He didn't sleep on the planes but just played and was a good boy. Thanks goodness none of us got sick while abroad either. We all stayed about 10 days and visited lots of family.
In July Tejas got to go to a carnival and see some fireworks. He enjoys people watching and loved the stuffed penguin his Daddy won for him.
Tejas is still picking up lots of new words. He definitely understands everything but is a quiet guy when it comes to talking.

Below are pictures from August. Lots of news to share this month. First Tejas is expecting a sibling. Mommy is due in April and everyone is hoping for a baby sister.
Tejas went swimming in both Lake Michigan as well as the big swimming pool. He loved both and isn't afraid of going under the water at all.
Tejas is becoming more mischievous than ever. He now knows how to unlock the back patio door and slide the glass door open. Mommy and Daddy are going to have to find a new way to lock it. Tejas also knows how to climb into his high chair all by himself. He just climbs up the front of it and sits nicely in it waiting for food.
Tejas pulled another fast one over Mommy and Daddy. At home he acted like he didn't know how to use a spoon but Mommy and Daddy witnessed him eating effortlessly at daycare with bowl and spoon. Mommy went out that week and bought him plates and spoons to hopefully contain the mess. Nice try Mommy.

Below are pictures of Tejas from September. Tejas is learning to repeat the letters of the alphabet and count to ten. The cutest is the way he says the letter W. He also imitates almost everything Mommy and Daddy do or say.
Tejas can now make the sound of most animals and again Mommy and Daddy's favorite is his impersonation of a monkey. Speaking of animals, Tejas loves to go to the pond and feed the ducks.
However Tejas' favorite words are 'no' and 'my' and we are being introduced to the terrible twos early. He throws temper tantrums where he flops to the floor like a noodle and kisses the floor when he doesn't get his way.
We have tried to tell Tejas that he will have a brother or sister soon but he does not understand and instead finds it funny to poke Mommy's belly.

Below are pictures of Tejas from October. Tejas had his friends from DC visit. Nate and he played well together and liked to share the little couch. Tejas also liked to climb the high chair while Nate ate and either help himself to some food or help Nate finish his dinner.
Tejas visited a pumpkin farm where he had fun climbing the pumpkins. He went to Boo at the Zoo and Trick-or-Treating with his friend Rohun. He only made it to a few houses before he ran out of steam. He did however enjoy helping himself to candy rather than waiting for someone to hand him a treat.
Tejas' favorite things to say this month are 'I stuck' and 'yuck'. He will purposely get himself stuck under furniture and say 'I tuck'. Whenever he gets stuff on his hands he likes to say 'ya yuck'.
Tejas now knows a lot of colors. He likes to show Mommy and Daddy his knowledge by pointing to everything in the house and saying the color.
