Tejas and Karina had a very busy month. Although it happened at the end of the month, the most exciting thing this month was the Halloween costumes so we are putting those pictures first. Tejas was Handy Manny and Karina was a butterfly. Tejas had a great time time handing out candy and was very generous. He would grab handfuls of candy and say 'get some'. He did a really good job trick-or-treating as well. But after 1/2 hour in the cold he was ready to 'go home'.
        The Kuiper family headed up to Lake Michigan to visit family and on the way there got a flat tire. Luckily Mom's van had run-flat tires so we made it to a strip mall with a tire store. Getting the new tire took almost 2 1/2 hours. The kids and us were running out of steam. Once we got there we had a nice time with Aunt Jen, Uncle Josh, Kiersten, Elizabeth, James and Hannah. But getting both kids to sleep in the same hotel room was fun. One would be falling asleep and the other would cry out. They took turns doing this for 1 1/2 hours and even though Tejas went to bed way past his bedtime he still woke up bright and early (and grouchy). It was a long day!
        Tejas helped Mommy in the yard picking peppers to bring inside. He held the pot while I dug up the plants. When I would ask if he was ready he would say 'ready, 1, 2, 3, push!' then once the plant was in the pot he would say 'good job, Mommy!'. Where do they get this stuff?
        Tejas and Karina have begun fighting over the same toys. Tejas plays on his racetrack and Karina keeps trying to grab Tejas' favorite car. She is not satisfied with any other car Tejas tries to give her. It is also funny that Karina miraculously manages to sit up for minutes at a time while trying to steal her brother's toys.
        Karina got earrings this month. Being a little drama queen she cries while they are cleaning her ears with alcohol. She cried for a quick two minutes after the piercing but quickly calmed down.
        Finally Tejas got surgery this month to remove a bone growth on his pinky joint. It was growing quite quickly and causing discomfort. He did really well both in surgery and recovering. Only the first few hours he kept trying to hit the cast off or kept asking us to take it off. After that he adapted like a champ.
